I have been involved in education and therapy for the past 10 years. During that time, I have been privileged to work with teens, couples, families and individuals through some difficult times. While earning my bachelors at California State University Stanislaus, I worked full time at the Gallo Winery. While earning my teaching credential at Brandman University I worked in construction, eventually teaching history and government for eight years.
Although I absolutely loved teaching I knew I wanted to go into business for myself by helping families and businesses succeed in relationships. After making the very tough decision to move on from teaching I earned my Master’s, again from Brandman, and worked full time in the mental health field—earning recognition and accolades along the way. Currently, I am the Executive Director of Downey Park Counseling Associates and Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Southeastern University in Modesto. All of my experience has given me great insight into business, relationships, and how individuals thrive and operate. But the most exciting part is that I still am learning every day.
I live in Modesto with my wife of 25 years and have four children ages 24, 22, 19, and 17, one son and law,, and a beautiful grand baby boy. As a family we enjoy hiking, biking, eating meals together, travel, being involved in or church, and all sorts of family get-togethers. Individually I enjoy exercise, movies, music, reading, writing, talking to people, and learning new things. I am the type of person who enjoys both serious discussions and a good laugh. I truly believe happiness in life is composed of spiritual, physical and relational facets that must be cared for and maintained.
